Taylor Whitfield is a Project Manager in Ecostrat’s Biomass Advisory Group. He manages drafting, editing and analysis components of feedstock assessments for biomass and biogas projects for the Advisory Group across North America. In this role Taylor uses models to produce evaluations of competitive feedstock supply environments, and qualitatively assesses the strategic positioning of biomass sourcing operations.
Taylor is also a Project Lead on the development of the Canadian and US Biomass Supply Chain Risk Standards and serves as an observing member of a CSA Technical Committee responsible for accrediting the Biomass Supply Chain Risk Standards as a national standard of Canada.
Taylor holds an Honours BA in Global Studies from Wilfrid Laurier University and an MSc in Sustainability Management from the University of Toronto. During his Master’s studies Taylor’s research focused on sustainable energy transition pathways for Southeast Asian countries, concentrating on biomass potential. He has worked on international sustainable development projects, including an analysis of water resource allocation policies during drought events produced in partnership with Mahasarakham University in Thailand.
